L'attrice Emily Moore viene rapita e torturata da un uomo mascherato, che la stampa mondiale considera un fan psicotico. Solo Emily conosce il vero motivo per cui l'uomo lo ha fatto e, in fuga dall'orrore che ha vissuto, lascia New York per rifugiarsi in un'isola del Mediterraneo con il marito Robert, uno psichiatra. Il paesaggio idilliaco che li circonda diventa però una trappola quando dal nulla salta fuori una giovane e attraente ragazza con del sangue sulle mani e un debole per i giochi mentali.
